Help, tips, and troubleshooting for the Loendur counter app on iPhone.

Local-first Offline No accounts

Include, if you can: device model, iOS version, Loendur version, and what you expected versus what happened. Screenshots are welcome.

Quick start

1

Create a counter from the welcome templates or with the + button.

2

Swipe a counter to the right to add an entry with the default increment.

3

Open a counter to see its history, add notes, edit entries, and view summaries.

4

Choose what each counter shows using Display Mode.

Using Loendur

Counters

Create — use templates or create a custom counter with a name and optional color.
Edit — rename, change color, and set the counter’s display mode.
Reorder — use Edit mode to drag counters into your preferred order.
Archive — archive counters you’re not actively using; they won’t appear in the main list.

Entries and history

Add — record custom amounts (+ or -), optional notes, and choose timestamps if needed.
Edit — tap an entry to adjust amount, note, or timestamp.
Delete — swipe an entry to delete it.
Photo — attach one image per entry from the camera or your library.
Location — set a pin on the map, use your current position, or leave it empty.

Custom fields

Extra information you define per counter. Switch them on in the counter’s settings; the log sheet then asks for them each time.

Number — distance, weight, price, duration.
Text — a client, a place name, a short label.
Yes / no — a simple switch, which can also be left unanswered.
Custom field values and locations are included in CSV and JSON exports. Photos are not — they stay in the app.

Display modes

Each counter can show a different number depending on your preference. Common modes include:

Today — counts since midnight
This Week — counts from the start of the week
This Month / This Year — counts in the current period
All Time — total count
Days Since Last Entry — time since you last logged the counter

Statistics and overview

Open a counter to see its overview above the history: a tile grid you choose, and a period you can browse backwards.

12Current streak
5.3Daily average
11Best day
34This week
+18%Vs last week
1 284All time

Pick your tiles — up to eight, or none at all, from daily, monthly, and interval statistics such as Yesterday, This month, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, and This year.

Browse periods — step back through weeks, months, or years; period tiles follow what you’re viewing, while Current streak and All time stay put.

Read the history — entries are grouped by day under the overview, each with its amount, note, and time.

Hidden counters

Loendur offers an optional Hidden Counters feature for private tracking. Hidden counters are designed to avoid “existence leaks”: no visible list of hidden sets, no indication of how many hidden counters exist, nothing visible unless unlocked with the correct PIN, and they are never included in exports and never appear in widgets.

Important: Keep your PIN safe. If you forget it, recovery may not be possible.

Troubleshooting

I changed my phone / reinstalled the app and my counters are missing

Loendur stores data locally on your device. If you delete the app or move to a new device without a backup, your local data may be lost. If you previously exported your data, you can import it again.

Widgets are not updating

  • Open Loendur once to ensure the widget extension can refresh.
  • Try removing and re-adding the widget.
  • Restart your iPhone if the widget appears stuck.

I can’t find my hidden counters

Hidden counters are intentionally not listed. They are only visible after being unlocked with the correct PIN. If you forget the PIN, access may not be recoverable.

Export or import fails

  • Confirm the file format is supported (CSV or JSON).
  • Try saving the file to the Files app locally before importing.
  • If the file is large, keep the app open during import.

If you contact support, attach the file (if comfortable) or describe its structure and size.
